Deputy Speaker of Parliament and MP for Hulhu-Henveiru Moosa Manik has said that that Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) is getting destroyed due to leadership of two Presidents.

MP Moosa Manik said this during today’s Parliamentary sitting while debating on an amendment proposed to the Act on elections on the Parliament floor. He noted that there are currently two Presidents at MDP. While MDP is MP Moosa Manik’s former party, he acknowledged that and said that it is apparent that the part is being destroyed by these two Presidents.

He said that there is no closeness within the two leaders that won a Presidency by telling a great many lies before the people of Maldives regarding a decentralized Maldives. He also said there is discord among these two leaders at MDP.

MP Moosa Manik said that while there are two Presidents at MDP, one remains at the President’s Office while no one knows what the other actually does.

Moosa further said that the Fundamental Rights of MDP clearly states that after a party candidate assumes Presidency, the highest authority at the party is that very President. He said that there is however another President currently working at the leadership of MDP.
