The Maldives Olympic Committee has presented President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih with an invitation to the  Indian Ocean Island Games 2019. The Games are set to take place from 19 to 28 July 2019 in Mauritius.

Members of the Maldives Olympic Committee presented the official invitation during a meeting with President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih at the President's Office.

Speaking at the meeting, members of the Maldives Olympic Committee informed the President on the ongoing work of the Committee and possible areas that need assistance.  

As such, the members revealed that Maldives will be participating in ten different sports at the Indian Ocean Island Games this year.

Additionally, as Maldives has been a part of the Games since 2003, the Committee also held talks with President Solih in that regard.

The Olympic Committee had requested the President to provide land for the activities of the Committee during today’s meeting.
