Secretary General (SG) of Human Rights Commission of Maldives (HRCM) Mohammed Yameen has submitted resignation over a disciplinary probe.

Speaking to 'One', media official at HRCM said that HRCM had launched investigation into SG Yameen over alleged disciplinary issues. The media official did not state details of the allegations.

HRCM media official further added that since HRCM has not made a decision on the resignation, SG Yameen continues to report to work.

Yameen has filled the role of SG at HRCM for two years, prior to which he worked as a member of the media council.
