While the search for a woman on a dinghy that capsized due to a large wave, is still ongoing, MNDF has revealed that diving robots are being utilized in the operation.

The incident took place the past Friday as 19 year of Shima Nafiz and one other person left from Laamu Fonadhoo, enroute to Laamu Maamendhoo. The dinghy had however capsized near the island of Gaadhoo in the same atoll. While there were two people aboard the dinghy, after the dinghy capsized, the man swam to Six Senses Resort and sought help.

Various teams of the  Maldives National Defense Force, divers from Six Senses Resort and Laamu Gan Riveries Guest House are conducting the search for Shima.

The man on the dinghy who swam to nearby Six Senses Resort to seek help after it capsized has said that Shima had been left with a cellphone and an empty fuel tank to assist floating above water.
