First Lady Fazna Ahmed has said that this nation is in need of employing and adopting respect, humanity, kindness and tolerance  at this time.

The First Lady said this at the inauguration of the Symposium on Reviewing the National Curriculum, held this morning at Dharubaaruge.

She urged all participants at the Symposium to be careful to direct efforts and discussions to ensure that students are inculcated with the proper values of good character.

The First Lady said that this nation is in need of respect, humanity and kindness now, more than any other time in history.

She highlighted the significance of teaching students to think deeply about various issues. The First Lady also added that it is vital that students are taught how to question various topics from differing points of view.

She noted the methods to encourage teachers to establish a learning environment that is happy and safe for its students.

The First Lady urged all participants of the Symposium on Reviewing the National Curriculum to carry out their responsibility during the Symposium with outmost sincerity and good intentions.

Holding a Symposium on Reviewing the National Curriculum is a campaign pledge of President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.
