Maldives and USA have signed an agreement on strengthening counter terrorism efforts.

The agreement was signed by Minister of Foreign Affairs, Abdulla Shahid, on his ongoing official visit to Washington DC. The Principal Deputy Coordinator of Counterterrorism Bureau of the U.S. State Department, Alina Romanowski, signed on behalf of the US government.

The United States is said to offer assistance in aviation security efforts of Maldives under the Counter terrorism agreement signed today.
