Prosecutor General’s office has asked the Criminal Court to issue an order for the arrest of former President, Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom.

One Online has been informed that President Yameen had been served the summon to Criminal Court at 1:30 pm today regarding this submission by PG office.

One Online had also confirmed that President Yameen had been summoned to court to impose a hearing concerning an arrest  on charges of money laundering.

PG had requested an arrest order to Criminal Court while charges have been raised against the former President, accusing him of money laundering.

Senior officials of PPM or PNC have not been reachable for a comment.

Former Secretary General of PPM and MP for Faafu Nilandhoo constituency Dr. Abdulla Khaleel has informed One Online that that there are rumors of President Yameen’s arrest. He has however said that nothing is certain at this point.
