Former President, Mohamed Nasheed, has met with the Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi.

The meeting took place as part of an official visit to India by the former Maldivian President.

After the meeting, Nasheed tweeted that the Maldives being a strong, equal country is not something only sought by the Maldivians but the whole of Indian Ocean.

Nasheed arrived in India on an official visit last Tuesday. The former President has been meeting top Indian officials on his visit.
