Former Vice President, Dr. Mohamed Jameel Ahmed, has said that the MMPRC corruption scandal is a start and more corruption during the previous administration must be found.
Taking to Twitter following the report released by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC), Dr. Jameel said that the MMPRC corruption is just the tip of the iceberg while other major corruption took place over the past years in the forms of destroying democratic institutions and constitutional system with disastrous laws and amdendments.
Dr. Jameel said that any agreements made through MMPRC that did not benefit the Maldivian people must be terminated immediately. He said that while President Solih's Zero Tolerance initiative is a welcome one, it can only be a viable policy through meaningful action against everyone involved in corruption with no regards to foreign influence and political affiliation.
ACC released a report on the MMPRC corruption scandal that potentially implicating a number of political figures and major businesses in the country that dealt with the SOF company.
