Visa agreement between Maldives and India to commence implementation starting from 11 March 2019.
The agreement between Maldives and India had been arranged during President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih’s visit to India during December of last year. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has informed, that the visa proceedings can be implemented after all required legal proceedings are completed.
The Ministry has revealed that the agreement was created to ensure that citizens of both nations can be provided ease in traveling from one country to another. The agreement has also been composed with the purpose of strengthening the ties between both countries.
President Solih has said that various issues faced in visa processes will be resolved, as per the agreement signed last December. As such, the President has announced that the visa allows a 90 day stay every six months for purposes of travel such as medical care, business or tourism.
