President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has announced that a Bill protecting those who report corruption has been submitted at Parliament. The President said that this Bill would work to encourage people to reveal acts of corruption as well.
The President made this announcement at an event held at the President’s office today. President Solih reiterated that providing protection for those that reveal corruption is a major leap in the fight against corruption.
An online portal has also been launched today in an effort to provide safe means of reporting corruption.
Speaking regarding the portal, President Solih said that any who use the portal when reporting acts of corruption can chose to remain anonymous.
The President gave his assurances that there need not be any hesitation or fear or of being exposed for revealing acts of corruption anymore.
