President Solih has invited Sri lankan businesses to experience and invest in the business opportunities in Maldives.
The President said this yesterday during a meeting with Sri lankan businessmen on his ongoing official visit. President Solih met with Sri lankan businessmen and noted that the ties in business between the two nations have strengthened over the years. He also expressed gave assurances that efforts would be taken to further solidify these ties in the future.
President Solih highlighted that the economy can be expanded through supporting self-owned businesses. He reiterated that the current administration will therefore give high priority to open up opportunities for foreign investors in an effort to support self-owned businesses. As such, the President welcomed Sri lankan investors to endorse Maldivian businesses in his address.
The President further added that the economic progress of Maldives and Sri lanka are dependant on a similar aspects. He noted that, as such this commonality is mainly based on the field of tourism. President Solih said that the development of both nations are tied, in working together to promote the use of renewable energy.
The President of the Sri lankan Business Council awarded President Solih with a commemorative plaque. The plaque was presented to President Solih in recognition of his efforts to strengthen ties in the field of business between the two nations.
