Popular Islamic scholar, Sheikh Ilyas Hussain, has said that the four leaders should work to sustain government. He reiterated that this should be carried out in a way that does not invalidate religious independence or take away the people’s hopes and sacrifices.

Sheikh Ilyas had carried out various efforts to bring about the current governance of President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih. While Sheikh Ilyas had advised as such, there has currently been disagreements and differences in thought among various coalition leaders. Efforts to carry out a meeting among leaders are reportedly long overdue at this point.

In a tweet sent by Sheikh Ilyas today, the Islamic scholar reiterated that it is the time to prioritize the country’s interests over personal interests.
