The Minister of Home Affairs, Sheikh Imran Abdulla, said that allegations by family members of former Vice President Ahmed Adeeb are untrue. While the Minister has said this, the family of former VP Ahmed Adeeb have been talking against Sheikh Imran and various government entities.
As such, Adeeb’s family has claimed that his medical decisions are being taken under orders from the Minister of Home Affairs. The family has also alleged that treatments are given and ceased based on the command of Sheikh Imran.
Speaking at a press conference held at the President’s Office today, Minister Sheikh Imran said that Adeeb’s family have made empty allegations. He added that there is in fact no truth behind the claims made by Adeeb’s family.
Sheikh Imran gave his confidences that there has been no neglect in Adeeb’s healthcare. He said however, that he cannot comprehend how to provide the specific care demanded by Adeeb’s family. The Minister reiterated that as such, Adeeb’s healthcare is proceeding under the advisement of doctors.
He said that he does not understand how Adeeb can be kept at the hospital for the specific period of time requested by his family. Sheikh Imran stressed that such decisions are in the hands of the doctors.
The CEO of Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital, Ibrahim Saleem, spoke on the matter and said that Adeeb’s healthcare is based on advice from doctors. Saleem also added that he is unable to divulge details of Adeeb’s healthcare.
