For the first time ever, Visa Services to Germany officially commences in Maldives.

The Visa Clinic for processing visa to Germany was officially opened today for the first time to provide services for Maldivians traveling to Germany.  This visa clinic is part of the ongoing efforts to ensure that Maldivians are given ease of access when it comes to traveling abroad.

Foreign Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Abdul Ghafoor Mohamed spoke to the press today and said that 123 bookings have already been made for visa processes at the Clinic. He reported that the Visa Clinic will be conducted for a total of five days.

Abdul Ghafoor further said that the Visa Clinic opened today is only temporary. He noted however that arrangements are being made by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to establish the provision of these services permanently in Maldives.

The Foreign Secretary noted the assistance offered by both the government of Germany as well as the Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) and expressed gratitude towards that.

The Visa Clinic that was initially supposed to be opened for only two days was extended to the duration of five days due to increased demand. The Clinic’s services are open to all those who made bookings online by 25 January 2019. The Clinic will provide services daily, starting from today from 8:00 am till 4:00 pm until 31 January 2019.
