A random sample from Dhaalu Atoll Bandidhoo tested for COVID-19 has come back positive.

President of the Dhaalu Atoll Council, Hassan Haneef told One Online that everyone in one family has tested positive and flu symptoms were were reported from a person who came into contact with them as a delivery person.

Bandidhoo Hospital asked anyone who has visited Femoraage on the island to inform the hospital as soon as possible and get tested.

Haneef further said that contact tracing is underway but the island has not been placed under monitoring.

Currently there are 44 islands under monitoring across the country as COVID cases continue to climb.
