The team of doctors who operated on former President Mohamed Nasheed after a blast that injured him on May 06 has revealed that he is out of major danger and that they will keep him under monitoring until they are satisfied that he can be moved away from critical care.

During a press conference held to reveal the details regarding the treatment of President Nasheed following an assassination attempt last Thursday, doctors revealed that many successful surgeries were conducted.

Internal Medicine Doctor, Dr. Nasheeda Saeed said that President nasheed spent a total of 16 hours in surgery due to multiple complications and that he is currently being treated at the Critical Care Unit (CCU).

She added that due to the surgeries and injuries, Nasheed's body will go through major changes. She noted that he was in a serious condition when he was transferred to the CCU.

However, he remains out of any major danger as of now. Even though he is out of danger, doctors describe his road to recovery as a long one with the potential risk of infection due to internal bleeding.
