ADK Hospital has revealed that projectiles from the blast that took place on May 06th were found lodged near former President Mohamed Nasheed's heart. They noted that the chest area injuries were life-threatening.

During a press conference held to reveal the details regarding the treatment of President Nasheed following an assassination attempt last Thursday, doctors revealed that many successful surgeries were conducted.

Chief Medical Officer of ADK Hospital, Dr. Abdulla Niyaf said that President Nasheed was bleeding profusely when he arrived and that a CT scan after treating the external injuries revealed that he had suffered various internal injuries as well.

The doctor revealed that some projectiles impacted the ribs and the resulting damage had lodged in the lungs and near the heart. These were the most life-threatening injuries.

Cardiothoracic Dr. Kaushal noted that around 600ml of blood had also leaked into the abdomen area causing an internal bleed.
