ADK Hospital has said that the projectiles from the explosion that took place on May 06th impacted former President Nasheed in many areas, including one that pierced his intestine.

During a press conference held to reveal the details regarding the treatment of President Nasheed following an assassination attempt last Thursday, Dr. Shaan noted that several projectiles from the explosion had impacted the body in multiple regions, including one that had pierced his intestine.

The doctor noted that in the abdomen area, projectiles were found in the stomach as well with internal bleeding. About 600ml of blood had leaked into the abdomen area, which was removed during surgery.

There was also a projectile that had gone through and through the intestine, which had pierced the intestine causing a risk of leaking it's contents into the abdomen area. However, Dr. Shaann noted that the intestines were largely empty given the time being Ramadan, however still noted that chances of infection were still there.

The team of doctors is currently monitoring his condition.

The blast also saw some projectiles impact the ribs and the resulting damage had lodged in the lungs and near the heart.

The most life-threatening injuries were to the chest area.
