ADK Hospital has said that former President Nasheed was bleeding profusely when he arrived, and that he was rushed to OT within 10 minutes of arrival.

During a press conference held to reveal the details regarding the treatment of President Nasheed following an assassination attempt last Thursday, Chief Medical Officer of ADK Hospital, Dr. Abdulla Niyaf said that President Nasheed was brought in to ADK Hospital around 8:30pm.

Dr. Niyaf, who was a member of the team that initially responded to President Nasheed added that after attending to President Nasheed, he was rushed to the Operation Theater within ten minutes.

Providing further details, Dr. Dusooma Abdul Razzaq said that initially, they checked to see whether President Nasheed responded properly. After establishing that he was responding well, a primary survey was conducted.

The survey revealed that there were multiple wounds on the body which were bleeding, and hence it was decided to take him up to the operation theater to treat his wounds and injuries.

Dr. Dusooma noted that they incubated him before beginning to work on the injuries and to stop the bleeding.

Dr. Nishan, who was also part of the team of doctors noted that he was bleeding profusely when he was taken to the operation theater. After being taken to the operation theater, President Nasheed was put under anesthesia so that the doctors could work on the injuries, after which a CT scan was conducted to locate any internal injuries.

The CT scan revealed that several projectiles had impacted the body during the blast.
