President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has said that he has full confidence that the coalition will remain standing even if there are disagreements between members.

President Solih said this during a press conference that took place at the Office of the President and said that he believes that having various leaders with differing political thinking among the coalition is not a reason for the coalition to be dismantled.

He said that the current differences in thinking are due to the upcoming Parliamentary elections. President Solih noted that each political party is seeking the amount of seats in Parliament that they desire.

He further said that there were separate agreements that were signed with Maumoon Reform Movement (MRM) and the different political parties. President Solih also said that there was an attempt to reach an agreement following the Presidential elections. He said that while the agreement was supposed to be agreed on and signed by all leaders of the coalition, the attempt was ultimately unsuccessful.

President Solih said that there is no agreement concerning the upcoming Parliamentary elections. He cited this reason for different political parties demanding various seats in Parliament.
