President of MDP and the former President of the Maldives, Mohamed Nasheed, has said that the issues surrounding the registration of the People’s National Congress (PNC) party is not something the parliament has to look in to.

The former President made the remarks on Raajje TV’s “Fashaairu” program this morning.

Nasheed said that PNC will be registered when they acquire valid membership forms and meet the requirements. And said that he believes the Elections Commission would do that as such.

While President Nasheed has said this, the Leader of the government coalition’s Jumhoory Party (JP), Qasim Ibrahim, met with MPs of PPM at the Parliament office.

At a JP event last night, Qasim said that he would work to resolve the PNC issue even if it means holding a parliament sitting for 24 hours.
