The Non-Resident Ambassador of Cuba to the Maldives, Juana Elena Ramos Rodríguez, has paid a courtesy call to Vice President Faisal Naseem.

The Vice President welcomed the Ambassador of Cuba to the meeting and conveyed greetings from the people and government of Maldives to the Cuban people and government.

Vice President Faisal Naseem expressed his gratitude towards the Cuban government, for the assistance that has been extended to Maldives. The VP had also highlighted the bond between the two nations and expressed his wishes that that the ties will be further strengthened. In addition, the Vice President also held talks concerning working together and developing areas that would be mutually beneficial to both nations such as tourism and the health sector.

Discussions were held during the meeting regarding climate change and possible solutions to the challenges brought on due climate change.
