President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has set the official working hours of Ramadan as 9:00am till 1:00pm.

The President’s Office revealed today that the President has officially set the working hours as 9:00am till 1:00pm for Ramadan and the first seven days of Shawwal for the Islamic year, 1442.

Even though working hours are shortened during this time, due to the ongoing pandemic workers have been advised to strictly follow new regulations put in place to ensure offices are open to provide services.

While work days begin at 9:00am this year, the government observed the same at 10:00am last year. However, back then the government was shut down for the entirety of the month due to the outbreak of COVID-19 in local communities.
