The seventh round of high-level meetings between the governments of China and the Maldives are se to start tomorrow.
Maldivian delegation in the talks is led by the State Minister, Ahmed Khaleel while he Vice Minister of the Chinese Foreign Affairs, Luo Zhaohui.
The Maldivian Foreign Ministry said that the main topic of discussion of the meeting would entail strengthening ties between the two countries, cooperation on the international stage and the efforts against COVID-19.
It includes the efforts to overcome the pandemic and rebuild the economy through renewing trade and tourism efforts between the two countries as soon as possible.
Foreign Ministry said that the Maldivian government is ready to continue talks with development partners such as China at this time of economic recovery. And further discussions will be held through 2021 on various fronts.
The last bilateral consultations between the two countries were held in Maldives back in 2017. Since the COVID outbreak, the meetings have been held virtually.
