A teacher for Primary Grade 3 at Aminiya School has tested positive, leaving all teachers who came in direct contact with them in quarantine.

One can confirm that a foreign teacher had tested positive from the school, who teaches to Grade 3 students. All teachers who came in contact are now in a 14-day quarantine, however, it remains unclear the total number of teachers in quarantine.

It is believed that no students were in contact with the teacher who tested positive, though it remains unclear whether any of the direct contacts were in contact with the students.

Schools in Male' City reopened after a ten-month hiatus this week. The Education Ministry had assured that several steps have been taken to assure the maximum safety of students resuming their studies at school.

They further noted that teaching arrangements have been made in a manner that does not require contact with the teachers.
