Changes have been brought to the time where businesses are allowed to load and unload large quantities of cargo and banned them near schools during the school hours.
Transport Ministry have brought the changes for the allowed times in Male’ and Hulhumale’.
An announcement by the Transport Ministry said that loading and unloading cargo near schools during the start and end of school sessions is illegal.
With this change, the hours where cargo can be transported across the Sina Male’ Bridge has been changed as well. And so, wholesale cargo are now allowed to be transported across the bridge between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m. However, the 350 kg pickup driven in Male’ and Hulhumale’ are allowed to transport cargo 24 hours.
The Transport Ministry said that from 9a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and from 1:30 p.m. to 3 a.m., all vehicles classes can carry cargo aside from water and gas.
Transport Ministry said that although vehicles under 2T are allowed to transport across the bridge 24 hours, they must only travel on the outer road of Boduthakurufaanu Magu. And the 2T trucks can travel across the bright from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m..
