Mr. Shazail Shiyam has been appointed as the Managing Director of Maldive Gas.

Shazail, who has been appointed as Managing Director of the company earlier today, had previously served in various political positions in former President Yameen's administration. Shazail had served as Chairman of Kooddoo Fisheries Complex in the year 2013 as well as the Deputy Minister for the Ministry of Fisheries and Agriculture. He had also been appointed as the Deputy Minister for Tourism in the pprevious administration.

Shazail was dismissed from his position in 2017, -during the administration of President Yameen- following his support for former President Maumoon Abdul Gayyoom's political party Maumoon Reform Movement (MRM)
