President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih sends greetings to the Maldivian people on the occasion of the New Year.

Speaking at the New Years' address to the Maldivian people, the President expressed his wishes that this year, 2019 will be a prosperous and happy year for the Maldivian people in all aspects.

He further assured the Maldivian people that this administration will continue to work towards bringing the hopes of the Maldivian people to fruition. Solih said that in the previous year, the degree to which the Maldivian people wish to uphold and sustain the freedom and rights of this country according to its Constitution has been solidified.

In addition to that, Solih highlighted that it is truly a blessing from God that the people of Maldives are surrounded by leaders who are united in making the hopes of this nation a reality.

President Solih also took the opportunity to note that the impending Parliamentary elections - set to be held in April of this year - is an opportunity for the Maldivian people to re-shape a stronger constitutional system. He further expressed his wishes that the people of Maldives remain working towards progress and success through kinship and unity.
