Maldives on Tuesday reported the 20th COVID-19 death in the country as another Maldivian passed away at state-run Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hospital.
Health Emergency Operation Center (HEOC) said that today at 12:12pm, a 67 year old Maldivian male at IGMH ER had passed away.
He was taken to hospital on 10th August afternoon.
This is the 20th COVID-19 death in the Maldives. Among these are fifteen Maldivians and five foreigners.
The first COVID-19 death was recorded on April 29th, who was an 83-year-old woman. With the recent spike in COVID-19 cases, the number of deaths has been slowly increasing too.
The total number of COVID-19 cases in the Maldives is now 5,157.
