Chilling Adventures of Sabrina fans launch efforts to save the show after Netflix cancellation

Chilling Adventures of Sabrina fans have kickstarted a campaign to save the show following the news of its cancellation.

On Wednesday (July 8), Netflix confirmed that the upcoming 'Part 4' would be the last outing for Kiernan Shipka's version of the teenage witch, but fans have now made it clear that they're not willing to let the series go without a fight.

Shortly after Netflix revealed that CAOS wouldn't be returning after its next batch of episodes, fans launched a new campaign on Change.org calling on the streaming service to renew the show.

back from the dead," the campaign read.

At the time of writing, the petition has already smashed its original target of 15,000 signatures and has now set a new goal of 25,000 in the hopes of persuading Netflix to bring the series back for more episodes.

Netflix confirmed Chilling Adventures of Sabrina's cancellation earlier this week, as well as sharing a synopsis for what the final episodes had in store.

"The Eldritch Terrors will descend upon Greendale," the synopsis teased. "The coven must fight each terrifying threat one-by-one (The Weird, The Returned, The Darkness to name a few), all leading up to… The Void, which is the End of All Things.

"As the witches wage war, with the help of The Fright Club, Nick begins to slowly earn his way back into Sabrina's heart, but will it be too late?"

The series' creator Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa also weighed in on the cancellation news, saying that it had been an "incredible honour" to work on the series over the past few years.

"I am beyond thankful to the crew, writers, editors, assistants, and everyone for pouring so much love into this dark dream of a show," he added.

"I'm also grateful to our partners at Netflix, Warner Bros, Berlanti Television and Archie Comics for letting us tell the story we wanted to tell, the way we wanted to tell it. We can't wait for everyone to see part four."

Chilling Adventures of Sabrina season 3 is streaming now on Netflix, with season 4 set to premiere later this year.
