Maldives Correctional Service has said that the random samples collected from the Maafushi Prison has tested negative for COVID-19.

A tweet sent out by the Correctional Service last night said that the Health Protection Agency (HPA) has confirmed that all 38 samples from Maafushi Prison tested negative.

Samples were collected from 15 inmates and 23 officers to be tested. The random samples selected from inmates in different units and officers from different departments.

Correctional Service has previously said that the samples were collected on this past Friday to see how much the Maafushi Prison is affected by COVID-19.
