A Concept Paper for Framework of Cooperation between the Governments have been signed between the Maldives and the People’s Government of Yunnan Province of the People’s Republic of China.

The agreement was signed yesterday evening by the Secretary of Multilateral at the Ministry of Foreign Affiars of the Maldivian government, Dr. Ali Naseer Mohamed and the Director General at the Foreign Affairs Office on behalf of People’s Government of Yunnan Province, Madam Pu Hong.

The signing was witnessed by the Governor of Yunnan Province, China, Ruan Chengfa, and the signing was witnessed by the Governor of Yunnan Province, China, Ruan Chengfa, and the Minister of State for Economic Development of the Maldives, Neeza Imad.

The Concept Paper will further enhance cooperation and coordination between the two countries on bilateral, economic and commercial relations.

The signing ceremony was also attended by the Maldivian Foreign Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Abdul Ghafoor Mohamed, Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mariyam Seena, and the Assistant Director at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Maryam Bassama Farooq.
