Judge Abdul Rauf Ibrahim, representing the High Court on the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has resigned from the position.

While the High Court has confirmed Judge Abdul Rauf’s resignation, his resignation has come at a time where President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has requested counsel from the JSC to appoint him to the Supreme Court.

Judge Abdul Rauf was appointed as the High Court representative on the JSC in May 2017.

With his resignation, a judge from the High Court has to be elected to the JSC within 30 days.
