Parliament Committee on Judiciary has begun work to remove Prosecutor General Aishath Bisham from her post, for a second time.
The works to remove PG Bisam was first ruled as invalid after it was found that it was moving forward in violation of the general rules of MDP. Hinnavaru MP Jeehaan Mahmood had then moved to rule it as invalid, which the committee backed.
PG Bisham’s removal was proposed today by Mathiveri MP Hussain Zareer and was seconded by South Henveiru MP, Hassan Latheef.
The motion was passed with the majority of the committee.
PG Bisam is being accused of failing to fulfill her responsibilities, conjuring charges that were politically motivated as well as many others.
