Former Vice President Dr. Mohamed Jameel Ahmed has alleged that former President and Speaker of Parliament, Mohamed Nasheed had crossed limits in defending Maldives Democracy Network (MDN).

Dr. Jameel's allegations come at a time when Nasheed had said that the MDN report included points which were to be thought about, in response to Naifaru MP Ahmed Shiyam's claims that the authorities had failed to take any real action regarding the controversial report issued by MDN.

Nasheed further added that those who have been alleged of recruiting jihadists in Syria are the ones who are condemning the report and voicing their strong opinions against it.

In a tweet sent out tonight, Dr. Jameel said that Nasheed had crossed the limits in defending MDN and asserted that those who do not wish any other religion in the Maldives except Islam are the ones who are speaking about the report.

Nasheed had also condemned the report by MDN during the Parliament sitting today after he was met with opposing opinions by lawmakers when he tried to defend the report.
