President’s Office has said that the period to nominate names for the year’s National Award will expire on Wednesday.

The President’s Office said that the deadline for applications is 2 p.m. on Wednesday, 31 July. And so, completed forms addressed to the Committee on the National Award have to be submitted to the President’s Office before then.

Forms are available at the President’s Office during the official hours. They are also available for downloads on the website of the President’s Office.

Names can be submitted by state institutes and private citizens. Names can be nominated by sending in the name of someone else or the name of their own.

The award is set to be given at the National Day ceremony, celebrated on the first day of Rabi al-Awwal; celebrated to mark the Maldivian freedom from the Portuguese. The day falls on 10 November in 2019.
