Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC), represented in the Maldives by Centurion, has set a new record by transporting more than 2,850 TEUs of cargo to the Maldives in a single month.
The record was achieved with the arrival of the feeder vessel MV Manasa in Malé, marking the highest monthly cargo volume delivered to the Maldives by a single container shipping line.
Centurion said the milestone was achieved despite challenges including limited port space, congested vessel schedules and adverse weather conditions. The company credited the achievement to strong feeder connections between Colombo and Malé and coordinated operational efforts.
Centurion Chairman Captain Ahmed Maumoon said the record reflects the confidence Maldivian businesses have in MSC's services and highlights the company's commitment to ensuring reliable cargo supply to the Maldives.
MSC, the world's largest container shipping line, operates a fleet of around 1,000 container vessels and serves more than 155 countries, transporting an estimated 30 million TEUs annually. The company said it will continue working with partners and authorities to strengthen shipping services and improve international trade connectivity for the Maldives.
