The Maldives achieved strong results at the South Asian Ju-Jitsu Competition held in Sri Lanka, winning a total of nine medals – three bronze and six silver.
Eight Maldivian athletes competed against participants from India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh.
Among the highlights, Ahmed Sinan secured a bronze medal in the 77kg BJJ category, while Eva Zulal Zaeem earned silver in the 70+ kg division. Yalmai Basit claimed bronze in the 57kg BJJ category. Aidin Mohammed stood out with two silver medals in the 99+ kg category across different disciplines, and Hussein Shahau also won double silver in the 94kg category.
Mariyam Aini added to the tally with a silver medal in the 52kg fighting discipline and a bronze in BJJ, contributing to the Maldives’ impressive overall performance.
