Eydhafushi and Naivadhoo secured victories in the quarter-finals of the Hyundai Golden Futsal Challenge 2026, the Maldives’ largest and most prestigious futsal tournament, to book places in the semi-finals.
In the first quarter-final, Dhuvaafaru and Eydhafushi were tied 2–2 at the end of regular time, with Eydhafushi winning 6–4 on penalties. The match was tightly contested, with limited chances in the first half. Eydhafushi’s Ali Naseem scored a powerful goal to give his side the lead, before Hussain Shareef added another from a kick-in. Mohamed Nooh Ibrahim equalised late in the half, while Dhuvaafaru goalkeeper Mohamed Shan saved two penalties in the shootout.
In the second quarter-final played between Mathiveri and Naivadhoo, the latter defeated Mathiveri 4–2. Captain Yameen Mohamed opened the scoring, before Mohamed Shafraz equalised for Mathiveri. Naivadhoo regained the lead through Hussain Maish and extended their advantage in the second half with goals from Mohamed Aslam and Ahmed Hameed (Anmadey). Abdulla Fizan Abdul Ghafoor scored Mathiveri’s second goal.
With the win, Naivadhoo joined Eydhafushi in the semi-finals of the tournament.
