Maldivian bodyboarder Eyan Ahmed has made strong progress in the junior category at the Morocco World Bodyboard Championships, the opening event of the IBC World Tour.
The Maldives is competing in the championship with athletes in both junior and senior categories. Eyan competed in the Junior Rising Series, which began on Saturday.
In the first round, EyanIan finished second in his heat with a score of 5.45, advancing to the next round. France’s Johann Bachelard placed first with 9.75 points, while Morocco’s Haji Yassin finished third with 3.25 points.
Eyan went on to compete in the second round, where he finished third in his heat with a score of 8.15. France’s Luca Zaninotto topped the heat with 15.65 points, followed by Davy Anderson of the United States with 10.35 points.
In the senior Prime Series, the Maldives is represented by Ali Husruwan (Kuda Ayya), Amin Umar Moosa, and Ashraf Hassan. Mohamed Kaif, who was also set to compete, was ruled out due to injury.
