The Maldives Bureau of Statistics (MBS) has reported that the prices of goods increased by 0.95 percent, according to the latest Economic Consumer Price Index (ECPI).
The ECPI index released by MBS shows that prices of basic commodities rose by 0.95 percent between December 2024 and December 2025. The report noted that cosmetic products recorded the highest increase, with prices rising by 4.48 percent.
Food prices increased by 0.43 percent, while beverage prices rose by 2.45 percent during the same period. In contrast, gas prices declined by 1.02 percent, according to the report.
MBS also stated that prices in December were higher compared to November last year, with the overall price level increasing by 0.51 percent.
