Alifushi Defeats Dhuvaafaru; Inguraidhoo Also Secures a Win

In the ongoing Raa (R) Atoll league round of the HD Hyundai Golden Futsal Challenge 2026—the Maldives' largest and most prestigious futsal tournament—Alifushi triumphed over Dhuvaafaru, while Inguraidhoo secured a victory against Fainu.

With four teams competing in the R. Atoll round this year, Alifushi has now recorded its second consecutive win. Having won both matches played so far, Alifushi defeated Dhuvaafaru with a 2-1 scoreline yesterday.

In the match, Ibrahim Furugan (Fugey) and Ahmed Zalaf scored for Alifushi. The solitary goal for Dhuvaafaru was netted by Mohamed Noohu Ibrahim.

Meanwhile, the defending atoll champion, Inguraidhoo, earned its first win of the tournament by defeating Fainu 6-2 last night. Mohamed Juman stood out with two goals, while Ali Haafiz (Haappe), Mohamed Mamdooh, Ahmed Masheed, and Ali Shafiu also added to the scoreline.

Fainu’s goals were scored by Rilwan Shareef and Affan bin Ahmed.

While Alifushi is now close to securing a spot in the atoll final, Dhuvaafaru will face Fainu in their final group match. Inguraidhoo is set to encounter Alifushi in their last game, where a victory is mandatory for the defending champions to keep their hopes alive.

However, if Dhuvaafaru loses to Fainu, the chances for both Inguraidhoo and Fainu to advance will significantly increase.
