The Football Association of Maldives has announced plans to conduct a special referee course aimed at training young referees.

According to FAM, the free course is open to individuals aged between 16 and 25 who are interested in becoming football referees. The opportunity is available to both young men and women, with the deadline to apply set for January 15.

Applicants are required to complete the application form included in the official notification. Eligibility criteria include the ability to speak and write English fluently, being within the specified age range of 16 - 25, holding at least a fourth-grade pass, and submitting a police report.

For participants under the age of 18, a completed parental no-objection form is also required. Both the application form and the parental consent form must be submitted by email as instructed in the notification.

FAM said the course is part of its efforts to develop and strengthen the referee sector in Maldivian football.
