The Hyundai and Golden Futsal Challenge 2026, regarded as the most prestigious futsal tournament in the Maldives, continued last night with exciting Th. atoll round matches, as Thimarafushi and Kinbidhoo recorded important victories.

Eight teams from the atoll are competing in this year’s tournament, divided into two groups. In Group A, the most successful team in the history of the competition, Thimarafushi, secured a comfortable 3–0 win over Vandhoo. Ismail Muniz scored twice, while Hussain Afeef added another goal.

The other Group A match between last year’s runners-up Hirilandhoo and Omadhoo ended in a 1–1 draw. Hassan Kian Sinan put Omadhoo ahead with a well-taken goal, before Mohamed Minwal equalised for Hirilandhoo.

In Group B, Kinbidhoo edged past Gaadhiffushi with a 3–2 victory. Goals for Kinbidhoo came from Mohamed Sahaau, Abdulla Sameeh, and Mohamed Shafiu, while Mohamed Aiham and Mohamed Sahil found the net for Gaadhiffushi. In another Group B encounter, Buruni and Vilufushi shared the points after a closely contested match, with Mahmood Saleem and Masoosu Shabeen scoring for Bruni, and Ismail Hami Ahmed and Ibrahim Risham scoring for Vilufushi.
