In the ongoing atoll rounds of the nation's largest and most prestigious futsal tournament, the HD Hyundai Golden Futsal Challenge 2026, Nilandhoo delivered a dominant performance in the Faafu (F) Atoll category, while Dhiggaru and Maduvvari secured opening victories in the Meemu (M) Atoll round.
Five teams are competing in the F. Atoll round this year. In the matches played last night, Nilandhoo defeated Feeali with a 5-1 scoreline. Hassan Raidh and Iyaz Ahmed each scored twice for Nilandhoo, while Shahudhan Abdul Ghani added the fifth goal. The solitary goal for Feeali was scored by Shaif Abdullah Hameed.
In another match within the same atoll, the defending champion Dharanboodhoo was held to a 2-2 draw by Bilehdhoo. Mohamed Zeedhan and Nadheef Ibrahim found the net for Bilehdhoo, while Muallim Umar and Saain Ali scored for Dharanboodhoo.
The M. Atoll round also commenced last night with five teams participating. The defending atoll champion, Dhiggaru, secured a 2-0 victory over Mulah, thanks to goals from Ammar bin Asif and Ismail Wail.
In the other match played in the atoll last night, Maduvvari edged past Kolhufushi with a 1-0 win. The only goal of the match was scored by Tholal Naseer.
