The Maldives were defeated by Kyrgyzstan in the final of the Central Asian Volleyball Association (CAVA) Women’s Cup 2019, finishing the tournament with a silver medal.

The Maldivian team lost the final match 3–1 to Kyrgyzstan. This marks the second time the Maldives have lost to Kyrgyzstan in the final of the tournament. The Maldives have now won three silver medals in the CAVA Women’s Cup.

The Maldives started the match strongly, winning the first set 25–20 with strong attacking performances from captain Hawwa Rashida and Aminath Shaha.

However, Kyrgyzstan responded well in the following sets, capitalising on errors and effective blocking to win the next three sets 25–22, 25–17 and 25–21, sealing the match and the title.
