Club Eagles claimed their first victory of the Dhivehi Premier League season with a 2-0 win over TC Sports on Sunday evening.

The match marked the Eagles’ first league fixture of the season. The team faces losses in their first six games, including three draws after the Charity Shield match.

The club has seen several coaching changes in recent months. Ahmed Nimad began the season as head coach after Mohamed Shiyaz (Mohan) took charge during the pre-season. Abdulla Haneef later assumed the role of head coach at the start of the league campaign, under whom the team’s performance has steadily improved.

The Eagles previously drew against both Odi Sports Club and New Radiant Sports Club.

In Sunday’s match, Ismail Easa opened the scoring in the second half, through an assist from Ahmed Rizwan (Rizwan) in the 65th minute. TC Sports were reduced to ten men after Hassan Inaz received a red card in the 75th minute, further tilting the match in favour of the Eagles. The team’s Japanese midfielder also found the net, securing the team’s second goal of the game and sealing the win
