The Asian Games Fun Run 2025 officially began in K. Huraa today, marking the start of two days of events held as part of celebrations leading up to the 20th Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, in 2026.

A press conference was held in the evening, where Maldives Olympic Committee Secretary General Thamooh Ahmed Saeed, officials from the Olympic Council of Asia, and representatives of the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games Organising Committee spoke about the aims of the Fun Run and its role in building excitement for the Games.

Thamooh Ahmed Saeed thanked the K. Huraa Council and local administrative bodies for their support, stressing the importance of community participation and youth involvement in promoting the values of the Asian Games.

The programme in K. Huraa also includes a Youth Reporters Programme and an Art Competition, organised in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, to encourage creativity and awareness of the Games among students across the Maldives.

The Asian Games Fun Run is celebrated across Asia, serving as both a festival of sport and a platform to unite communities ahead of the continent’s biggest multi-sport event.
