The Maldives Olympic Committee (MOC), in collaboration with the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games Organizing Committee (AINAGOC) and K. Huraa Council, has scheduled the Fun Run activities for the 20th Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, for the 19th of next month.
The main event planned in K. Huraa is a run called the "Asian Games Fun Run". According to MOC, in addition to the run, some sports activities will also take place in Huraa that day.
Previously in 2023, a run was also held in the Maldives to promote the Asian Games held in Hangzhou, China, which received a great response.
MOC said the purpose of the Fun Run and activities in Huraa is to promote the Asian Games in the Maldives and to revive and foster the spirit of the Asian Games in the country.
The opportunity to participate in the Fun Run is open to the public, and registration can be done by filling out a special form. The form includes arrangements for transportation to and from Huraa on the day of the run. The deadline for registering for the Asian Games Fun Run is September 1.
Special cash prizes have been set for the podium finishers of the Fun Run, with MVR 5,000 for the first-place runner, MVR 4,000 for the second-place runner, and MVR 3,000 for the third-place runner.
The Asian Games is the largest multi-sports event in Asia. More than 10,000 athletes from 45 Asian countries participate in this event. It is also the third largest games in terms of Maldivian athlete participation.
